Police have filed a case against senior Congress leaders for their involvement in a protest at Lok Bhawan, citing violations of law.
Police officials confirmed that a formal case has been registered against several senior leaders of the Indian National Congress for taking part in a demonstration at Lok Bhawan. The filing, made under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, alleges that the protest breached public order norms and caused disruption at the premises.
Lok Bhawan, a historic building in Delhi traditionally associated with the Congress party, became the focal point of the demonstration, which drew attention from media and onlookers. Participants gathered to voice grievances over recent political developments, but authorities say the assembly exceeded permitted limits and resulted in obstruction of the area.
The police statement indicated that the investigation will continue to ascertain the extent of any unlawful activity and that the accused may face further legal action if evidence warrants. No comment was received from the Congress leadership at the time of reporting.
