During an opposition rally, a senior Congress leader claimed the BJP secured power through stolen votes and said India's democracy is under threat.
A Congress leader addressed a crowd of opposition supporters in Delhi, accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of forming the government by illicitly appropriating votes. The remarks were made during a scheduled march organized by opposition parties to protest recent political developments.
The leader asserted that the BJP's ascent to power was not the result of a free and fair electoral process, but rather the outcome of systematic vote theft. He warned that such practices jeopardise the foundations of India's democratic system and could erode public confidence in institutions.
While the leader's statements have sparked debate among political analysts, no official response from the BJP has been recorded at the time of reporting. The march continued with participants chanting slogans demanding transparency and accountability in governance.
