Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh have issued a clear deadline, demanding that the state government release the master plans for the cities of Bhopal and Indore within the next three months. The party argues that the absence of a comprehensive development blueprint has stalled progress in both capitals.
The ultimatum was delivered during a press conference where Congress spokesperson Jitu Patwari warned that failure to comply would trigger a mass protest. Patwari said that a contingent of 50,000 supporters would march from Indore to Bhopal, encircling the Chief Minister’s residence to press the issue.
The master plan is expected to outline land‑use policies, infrastructure projects and urban renewal initiatives for the two major cities. Critics say that the delay has led to fragmented development and rising land‑price speculation.
