Political activity has surged in the Guru Har Sahai constituency as Congress, AAP and Akali Dal gear up for the 2027 Punjab assembly elections, with electricity, water and sewage issues dominating the agenda.

Political campaigning has intensified in the Guru Har Sahai constituency of Punjab as the state prepares for the 2027 legislative assembly elections. Local party offices report a noticeable increase in rallies, door‑to‑door outreach and public meetings over the past weeks.

The three major contenders – the Indian National Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Shiromani Akali Dal – are now actively contesting the seat. Each party has dispatched senior leaders to the area, signalling that the constituency is viewed as a key battleground in the upcoming poll.

Residents’ primary concerns centre on basic civic services. In particular, unreliable electricity supply, intermittent water availability and inadequate sewage infrastructure have been highlighted as pressing problems. Party representatives have repeatedly cited these issues in speeches, promising remedial measures if elected.

While the Election Commission has not yet announced the exact polling date, the heightened activity suggests that all sides are positioning themselves for a closely fought contest in Guru Har Sahai, with service delivery likely to dominate voter sentiment.
