Comic Con India announced its inaugural event in Andhra Pradesh, slated to be held in Visakhapatnam. The pop‑culture convention will bring comics, gaming and celebrity guests to the coastal city for the first time.
Comic Con India, the country’s leading pop‑culture convention, confirmed that it will hold its first edition in Andhra Pradesh, with Visakhapatnam selected as the host city. Organisers said the event aims to showcase comics, graphic novels, video games, movies and related merchandise, mirroring similar conventions in major Indian metros.
The decision follows growing demand for such gatherings in South India, where fan communities have been active on social media. Local authorities have been approached for venue approvals and security arrangements, though specific dates have not yet been disclosed.
Industry observers expect the Vizag edition to attract regional creators, publishers and gaming studios, providing a platform for networking and fan interaction. The convention is also likely to feature panel discussions, cosplay contests and autograph sessions with invited artists and actors.
Comic Con India’s expansion into Visakhapatnam reflects its broader strategy to reach tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities, diversifying its audience beyond the traditional metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
