Colva Police Locate Missing Mumbai Minors, Hand Them Over to Apna Ghar

On Tuesday, officers from the Colva Police Station in Goa found two minors who had been reported missing by their families in Mumbai. The children, aged 12 and 14, were discovered near a local market in Colva after a tip from a resident.
The police confirmed that the minors had been absent from their parents’ home for several weeks. After verifying their identities, the officers handed the children over to Apna Ghar, a child welfare center that provides temporary shelter and care for vulnerable youngsters.
Apna Ghar officials stated that the children will receive medical check‑ups and counseling while arrangements are made for their safe return to Mumbai. The case is now under investigation to determine how the minors ended up in Goa.
The incident has prompted the Goa Police to review protocols for missing child cases and to strengthen coordination with Mumbai authorities.
Families of the minors have expressed relief and gratitude towards the Colva police for their swift action.
