With the monsoon retreating, Coal India Ltd has increased coal production and resumed higher deliveries to thermal power stations across the country.

Coal India Ltd, the state‑run mining giant, announced that it has stepped up coal output following the easing of heavy rains that had disrupted mining operations in several regions.
The company said that the increased production is already translating into larger consignments to thermal power plants, helping to stabilise electricity generation as the monsoon withdraws.
Officials highlighted that the resumption of normal mining activities is expected to support the grid’s demand‑supply balance during the post‑monsoon period, without specifying exact volumes.
The move comes as the power sector seeks reliable fuel supplies after weeks of weather‑related constraints.
