Co-producer Anupriya Nagar says Bollywood producers who rejected 'Hanuman Ansh' now apologise

Anupriya Nagar, who co‑produces the upcoming mythological drama ‘Hanuman Ansh’, told The Times of India that a number of Bollywood producers who had earlier refused to associate with the film have now expressed regret. She said the producers have reached out with apologies, acknowledging the earlier decision may have been premature.

‘Hanuman Ansh’ is being positioned as a large‑scale devotional project that retells episodes from the Hindu epic. When the film’s makers first approached established production houses, several turned it down, citing concerns over market viability and the niche genre.

Nagar did not disclose the names of the producers but indicated that the change in attitude reflects growing confidence in the film’s potential after positive pre‑release buzz. Industry observers note that such reversals are rare and could signal a broader shift in how mythological content is perceived by mainstream Bollywood stakeholders.

The co‑producer added that the apologies will not affect the film’s release schedule, which remains on track for a theatrical debut later this year.
