The prices of CNG and PNG in Jaipur have been increased, with the new rates taking effect from midnight. The company had previously raised PNG prices four months ago.
The price revision for compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Jaipur came into force at midnight, affecting both vehicular and domestic consumers. Officials from the gas distribution company confirmed that the new rates are now applicable across the city.
This marks the second upward adjustment in PNG tariffs within a short span, as the same company had raised PNG prices four months earlier. The CNG rates were also revised, though the lead did not specify the magnitude of the increase.
Consumers using CNG for automobiles and PNG for cooking and heating are likely to see higher monthly expenses. Auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators and households dependent on piped gas have expressed concern over the additional cost burden.
While the exact percentage of the hike has not been disclosed by the company, the move aligns with broader trends of rising fuel costs in the region. The gas distributor said the revision is necessary to offset rising input costs and maintain service quality.
