Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated four new railway services at Bahraich, establishing direct links between Nepal’s Nepalgunj and the Indian cities of Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

During a ceremony at Bahraich railway station, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially launched four new train services. The trains will provide direct connectivity between Nepalgunj in Nepal and the Indian cities of Varanasi and Gorakhpur.
The schedule includes two weekly services to Varanasi and two to Gorakhpur, enhancing cross‑border travel for passengers and freight alike. Railway officials said the routes are expected to reduce journey times and simplify customs procedures.
State transport authorities highlighted that the new links will boost tourism, trade and cultural exchange between the bordering regions. Local businesses anticipate increased footfall, while residents look forward to easier access to major urban centres.
The inauguration underscores the Uttar Pradesh government's focus on expanding railway infrastructure to foster regional integration and economic growth.
