In a 65‑minute speech, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay criticised the DMK, citing Enforcement Directorate files, marking a rare prolonged confrontation in the state assembly.

During a recent session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Vijay delivered a marathon 65‑minute address that targeted the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The speech was anchored around documents and dossiers reportedly obtained from the Enforcement Directorate, which the CM used to allege financial irregularities and corruption within the DMK leadership.

Vijay methodically presented excerpts from the ED files, linking them to specific projects and individuals associated with the party. He argued that the evidence demonstrated a pattern of illicit enrichment and called for a parliamentary inquiry to examine the alleged misconduct.

Members of the DMK interrupted repeatedly, demanding that the proceedings be curtailed and labeling the attack as a political stunt. The opposition accused the CM of weaponising investigative agencies for partisan gain, while senior legislators from both sides urged the speaker to restore order.

Political analysts noted that such an extended, dossier‑driven tirade is uncommon in the state's assembly and could intensify the already fraught relationship between the ruling coalition and the opposition ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
