Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inspected health facilities in Koraka‑Bondari, Balaghat, after 24 children from Baiga families died, and directed authorities to improve treatment.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Koraka‑Bondari, a village in Balaghat district, to meet members of the Baiga community whose children have recently succumbed to a disease, killing 24 youngsters. The visit came after growing concerns over the lack of adequate medical care in the remote tribal area.
During his tour, the CM examined the local primary health centre, noting shortages of essential medicines, diagnostic tools and qualified staff. He instructed the district health officer to expedite the supply of medicines, deploy additional medical personnel and ensure that emergency transport is available for critical cases.
Yadav also listened to the grievances of affected families, many of whom reported delayed referrals and inadequate awareness about preventive measures. He promised to allocate additional funds for upgrading the facility and to launch a targeted health awareness campaign for the Baiga population.
The chief minister concluded by assuring that the state government will monitor the implementation of these directives closely and will hold periodic reviews to prevent any further loss of life among the tribal children.
