Supporters of BJP and RJD candidates confronted each other as ballot boxes were opened for the Bihar Legislative Council count in Patna, delaying the announcement of results.
Ballot boxes for the Bihar Legislative Council (MLC) election were opened in Patna, marking the start of the counting process for eight seats. As the counting began, crowds of party supporters gathered at the venue to watch the unfolding results.
Tensions escalated when supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) came into direct confrontation. Witnesses reported that verbal exchanges quickly turned physical, prompting police personnel to intervene and restore order.
Only one of the eight seats has been declared so far, and officials indicated that the remaining results are unlikely to be announced on the same day due to the slow pace of counting. The election was conducted entirely through paper ballots, which further extends the time needed to tabulate votes.
Election officials cautioned that the final outcomes for the remaining seven seats will be released in the coming days, once the counting process is completed and any disturbances are fully addressed.
