Local residents and members of the GBA union cleaned up years of garbage piled on the Wind Tunnel Road in Bangalore’s Central and East City Corporation area, reopening it to the public.

A group of local citizens, together with members of the GBA union, removed a massive buildup of waste that had accumulated on the Wind Tunnel Road, an arterial route within the Bangalore Central and East City Corporation jurisdiction. The cleanup effort opened the road for public use after years of neglect.

The waste pile had been left unattended for several years, prompting complaints from commuters and nearby residents. Volunteers organized a coordinated effort, bringing equipment and manpower to clear the debris that had obstructed traffic and posed health hazards.

Following the successful removal of the garbage, the road was declared clean and safe for vehicles and pedestrians. The community’s initiative highlights the role of citizen action in maintaining urban infrastructure when official maintenance falls short.
