The Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered a stay on upcoming teacher recruitment tests after identifying an error in the allocation of the Persons with Disabilities quota.

The Chhattisgarh High Court issued an interim order staying the scheduled teacher recruitment examinations across the state. The stay was prompted by a procedural flaw discovered in the calculation of the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) reservation quota for the posts.

According to the court's observations, the quota figures used in the recruitment notification did not conform to the statutory requirements, potentially compromising the fairness of the selection process. The bench directed the education department to revisit the quota allocation and ensure compliance with the relevant disability reservation norms.

As a result, the recruitment timeline has been put on hold until the authorities rectify the quota discrepancy. Candidates who had registered for the exams have been advised to await further instructions from the department, which is expected to issue a revised notification once the error is corrected.
