The Chhattisgarh government announced a target to achieve green energy capacity by 2030, backed by a planned investment of ₹5.60 lakh crore.
The state government of Chhattisgarh disclosed its ambition to reach a defined green energy capacity by the year 2030. To fund this transition, officials outlined a massive investment package amounting to ₹5.60 lakh crore.
The announcement aligns with India’s broader push toward renewable power sources, aiming to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and meet climate commitments. Chhattisgarh, traditionally known for its mineral and thermal power assets, is now positioning itself as a future hub for solar, wind and other clean technologies.
Authorities indicated that the capital outlay will be mobilised through a mix of state funds, private sector participation and central government schemes. If executed as planned, the investment could reshape the state’s energy mix, create jobs in the clean‑energy sector and contribute to national emission‑reduction targets.
