Chandrasekhar says his attempts to work with Mayawati failed

Chandrasekhar, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, told reporters that he had reached out to Mayawati in an effort to explore a possible political understanding. He said that despite multiple meetings and discussions, his proposals were not taken forward.

The veteran politician added that political collaboration “takes two to tango,” implying that both parties need to show willingness. He expressed disappointment that his attempts did not bear fruit, but did not rule out future dialogue.

No official response from Mayawati or the Bahujan Samaj Party was recorded at the time of reporting.
