Ceigall India has received a Letter of Intent to undertake a Rs 5,300‑crore power transmission project in Gujarat, marking a major expansion in the state’s grid infrastructure.

Ceigall India, a specialist in power‑transmission infrastructure, has been issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to develop a transmission project in Gujarat valued at Rs 5,300 crore. The LOI, issued by the relevant state authority, moves the project to the next planning stage after an initial feasibility assessment.

The undertaking will involve laying high‑voltage transmission lines and constructing new substations to augment the existing grid. By expanding capacity, the project aims to meet rising electricity demand from both industrial and residential users across the state.

The LOI precedes the preparation of detailed project reports and financial closure, which will be pursued after securing necessary regulatory clearances. Once operational, the network is expected to improve reliability and reduce transmission losses.

Industry observers note that the investment aligns with India’s broader agenda to modernise its power infrastructure, potentially creating jobs and stimulating ancillary services in the region.
