The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has implemented budget reforms for the express and courier sector to enhance trade facilitation and digitisation. These measures aim to expedite clearance processes.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has officially put into action a set of policy changes designed for the express and courier industry, as outlined in the Union Budget 2026-27. These reforms are intended to streamline trade processes and accelerate the time taken for goods clearance.

According to CBIC Chairman Vivek Chaturvedi, a significant focus of these operationalised measures is the strengthening of digitisation within the sector. The goal is to create a more efficient and technologically advanced system for handling express shipments.

These initiatives are expected to contribute to improved trade facilitation, reducing logistical bottlenecks and enhancing the overall speed of operations for businesses relying on express and courier services.
