CBI Arrests Nirav Modi Aide Sandeep Mistry After UAE Deportation

The Central Bureau of Investigation has detained Sandeep Mistry, a key aide of fraudster Nirav Modi, following his deportation from the United Arab Emirates in the Punjab National Bank scam.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Sandeep Mistry, a senior aide of the alleged fraudster Nirav Modi, on Tuesday in connection with the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam.
Mistry had been deported from the United Arab Emirates earlier this month after authorities there refused to grant him a visa to return to India.
The CBI said Mistry was involved in the planning and execution of the fraudulent transactions that led to a loss of more than ₹9,000 crore for PNB.
He was taken into custody at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi and is now facing charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the Indian Penal Code.
The arrest is part of a broader effort by the CBI to bring all key conspirators in the PNB fraud to justice.
