CBFC Unveils Strict New Guidelines for Indian Film Certification

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued a new set of guidelines aimed at tightening the certification process for Indian films. The guidelines, announced by the board, will apply to all feature films, documentaries and short films produced in India. They emphasize stricter scrutiny of content that could be deemed offensive or in conflict with national laws and cultural sensitivities. The CBFC has stated that the new rules will help ensure that films meet the standards set by the Indian Cinematograph Act and related regulations. Filmmakers are advised to review the guidelines carefully to avoid delays in the certification process.
