The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has pushed back the deadline for filing income tax audit reports to October 21, while the deadline for submitting Income Tax Returns (ITR) remains November 21.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) announced on Tuesday that the deadline for filing income tax audit reports has been extended to October 21, 2024. The deadline for submitting Income Tax Returns (ITR) remains unchanged at November 21, 2024. The move is aimed at giving taxpayers and audit firms more time to compile and verify audit data amid the busy filing season. Taxpayers who have not yet completed their audit reports will now have an additional month to meet the new deadline. The CBDT has reiterated that the extended deadline applies to all taxpayers subject to audit under the Income Tax Act.
