Police in Mohali have registered a theft case after a resident reported that Rs 20,000 in cash and an LED television were taken from a house in Swami Enclave.
Mohali police opened an investigation on Tuesday after a resident of Swami Enclave reported a burglary. According to the complaint, thieves entered the house in the early hours and made off with a sum of Rs 20,000 in cash and a flat‑screen LED television.
The homeowner discovered the loss when returning from work and immediately informed the local police station.
Investigators have collected fingerprints from the entry points and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspects. A police spokesperson said that a team has been deployed to canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses and that the case is being treated as a serious property crime.
Authorities have urged residents to secure their homes, avoid leaving large amounts of cash unattended, and report any suspicious activity promptly.
