Payments infrastructure firm CARD91 announced a new five‑point Credit Lifecycle Consistency Framework aimed at helping banks gauge readiness for Credit Line on UPI (CLOU).
Bengaluru, Karnataka – On August 26, payments‑infrastructure provider CARD91 introduced its Credit Lifecycle Consistency Framework, a five‑point industry model designed to assess banks' operational readiness for Credit Line on UPI (CLOU). The launch was announced from the company's Bengaluru office, underscoring the city's growing role in fintech innovation.
The framework focuses on maintaining consistent credit records across a range of transaction types, including new credit facilities, payments, refunds, reversals, repayments and EMI conversions. By standardising these touch‑points, banks can ensure that credit data remains accurate throughout the entire lifecycle of a UPI‑based loan.
Industry observers note that a unified readiness checklist could accelerate the rollout of UPI credit products, which are expected to broaden access to short‑term financing for consumers and small businesses. The consistency model also aims to reduce operational friction for banks integrating CLOU services into their existing payment ecosystems.
CARD91 positions the framework as a collaborative tool for banks, regulators and fintech partners, encouraging a shared approach to risk management and customer experience as the UPI credit market expands.
