A Jamshedpur businessman was fatally shot near Kanderbera, while a hotelier nearby sustained four bullet wounds, police said.
Police officials confirmed that a businessman was shot dead in the vicinity of Kanderbera, a locality on the outskirts of Jamshedpur. The incident occurred when the victim was approaching his vehicle, and gunfire was reported from an unknown direction.
According to the investigating team, a hotelier standing nearby was struck by four bullets but survived after receiving immediate medical attention. Both victims were rushed to a local hospital, where the businessman was pronounced dead.
Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and are canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses. A special investigation team has been formed to trace the weapon and identify the assailants. No motive has been disclosed so far.
