Businessman attacked, shop looted of Rs 15 lakh in Gaya ahead of CM’s visit

A businessman in Gaya’s Bhusunda area was beaten and his shop ransacked, with thieves escaping after seizing about Rs 15 lakh in cash, hours before the chief minister’s scheduled visit.
Authorities said that on the day the chief minister was due to visit Gaya, a group of unidentified men entered the Bhusunda neighbourhood and violently assaulted a local businessman. The assailants not only beat the shop owner but also forced their way into the premises, breaking doors and display units.
Police reports indicate that after the physical assault the perpetrators seized cash amounting to roughly Rs 15 lakh from the shop’s safe and fled the scene on foot. Witnesses described the attackers as bold, showing no hesitation despite the presence of other shopkeepers and shoppers nearby.
The Gaya police have registered a criminal case, launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby streets. Officials have appealed for anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that the incident occurred just hours before the chief minister’s official tour of the district.
