Prominent Bodo leaders, including BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, gathered in Assam to pay their final respects to the late Deputy Speaker Bijit Gwra Narzary.

Deputy Speaker Bijit Gwra Narzary was laid to rest in Assam after a solemn ceremony attended by senior political figures. The funeral drew members of the Bodo Territorial Council and other regional leaders who came to honor his memory.

Among the mourners, Hagrama Mohilary, chief of the Bodo Territorial Council, stood at the forefront, joining fellow legislators and party representatives in paying their respects. The gathering reflected the cross‑party acknowledgement of Narzary’s contributions to the state’s legislative process.

Narayary, who served as Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, was recognised for his role in facilitating debates and maintaining order in the house. Colleagues described him as a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly for the welfare of his constituents.

The ceremony concluded with traditional rites, after which the body was taken to the burial site. The Assembly will now need to fill the vacant Deputy Speaker position, a task that will be addressed in forthcoming sessions.
