Brother kills sibling over property dispute in Jalandhar, police say

Police in Jalandhar have solved a murder case where a man killed his brother over a property dispute, with the accused allegedly committing the crime with his wife present.
Jalandhar police announced on Tuesday that they have closed the investigation into a fratricidal murder that stemmed from a long‑standing property dispute. According to the investigation report, the accused approached his brother’s residence, confronted him over the contested land, and shot him dead in the presence of his wife.
The forensic team recovered the weapon and matched fingerprints to the suspect, who was arrested shortly after the crime scene was secured.
Authorities have also detained the suspect’s wife for questioning, as she was reportedly present during the incident. Both are being held at the Jalandhar district jail pending further inquiry.
The police spokesperson emphasized that the case underscores the need for peaceful resolution of familial property issues and assured that the investigation will continue to uncover any additional accomplices.
