Courts in Ahmedabad and Surat received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate evacuation and security searches of the premises.
The Ahmedabad and Surat district courts were alerted on Monday after receiving emails that threatened the presence of explosive devices on the premises. Security teams swiftly evacuated judges, staff and the public from both court complexes while bomb squads began systematic searches of the buildings.
Law enforcement officials from the Gujarat police and the National Security Guard coordinated the response, sealing off the court areas and deploying metal detectors and sniffer dogs to detect any suspicious material. No explosive devices have been found so far, and the investigations are ongoing.
Both courts remain closed pending clearance from the authorities. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communications.
The incidents have raised concerns about the safety of judicial institutions and the need for heightened security protocols across the state.
