A suspected bomb threat led to the diversion of around 30 aircraft in eight European countries, prompting heightened security measures at several airports.
European aviation authorities reported that a bomb scare triggered the diversion of roughly 30 aircraft operating across eight countries. The alert prompted immediate grounding or rerouting of flights, with pilots instructed to land at alternate airports while security teams investigated the threat.
Air traffic controllers coordinated closely with national security agencies to manage the sudden disruption, ensuring that passengers were kept informed and that safety protocols were strictly followed. Several major hubs experienced temporary closures of certain runways, leading to delays and cancellations.
The incident, which unfolded without any confirmed explosive device, underscores the heightened vigilance in European airspace amid ongoing security concerns. Officials said investigations are ongoing and that normal operations are expected to resume once the threat is cleared.
