Bollywood Stars' Wellness Entourage Drives Up Production Costs

The Hollywood Reporter India has highlighted a growing trend in Bollywood where leading actors are assembling personal wellness teams that include private chefs and high‑end fitness trainers. This shift reflects a heightened focus on health and image among stars, but it also brings a noticeable rise in production expenditures.

Producers and financiers are reporting that the cost of maintaining such entourage arrangements can be substantial, often adding millions of rupees to a film's overall budget. The expenses cover daily meals prepared by dedicated chefs, customized diet plans, and regular sessions with elite trainers who travel with the cast.

Industry observers note that while the practice aims to keep actors in peak condition for demanding shooting schedules, it forces production houses to renegotiate contracts and, in some cases, reconsider casting choices to balance creative aspirations with financial realities.
