BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide visited footpaths in five different divisions of Mumbai on Tuesday, inspecting the condition of walkways as part of the city’s ‘Pedestrian First’ drive. The inspection aimed to identify gaps in pedestrian infrastructure and prioritize repairs. Bhide noted that the initiative seeks to make Mumbai safer for walkers by ensuring well‑maintained footpaths, adequate lighting and clear signage. The commissioner also briefed municipal officials on the next steps for upgrading the inspected areas.
