Blinkit, Zepto Licenses Suspended in Maharashtra Food Safety Crackdown

In a significant move to ensure food safety, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a two-day inspection drive on November 4th and 5th. The inspections, which targeted various food businesses across the state, led to the suspension of licenses for 105 establishments found to be operating with serious breaches of safety regulations. Among the businesses affected were prominent quick-commerce companies Blinkit and Zepto, both known for their rapid delivery services. The FDA cited unsanitary storage practices and inadequate food handling as key reasons for the license suspensions.
