The Bharatiya Janata Party has reported a total outlay of Rs 96 crore for the Assam assembly election, more than four times the Rs 22.6 crore spent by the Indian National Congress.
Ahead of the upcoming Assam legislative assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party disclosed that it has allocated Rs 96 crore for its campaign activities in the state. The figure represents the party’s total expenditure on advertising, rallies, logistics and other election‑related costs.
In contrast, the Indian National Congress reported a campaign spend of Rs 22.6 crore for the same electoral contest. The BJP’s outlay is therefore more than four times higher than that of its main rival.
Analysts note that such a disparity in spending underscores the intensity of the contest in Assam, where both parties are vying for a decisive mandate. The higher spend may translate into broader outreach, but the ultimate impact will be measured at the ballot box.
