During a visit to Mahar in Madhya Pradesh, BJP state chief Hemant Khandelwal accused the Congress of orchestrating the protest against the SIR project.
BJP Madhya Pradesh president Hemant Khandelwal raised concerns about a protest targeting the SIR initiative while touring the town of Mahar. He said the demonstration appeared to be timed and directed by the Congress to create political turbulence.
Khandelwal told reporters that the protestors were not representing genuine local grievances but were acting on cues from opposition leaders. He urged law‑enforcement agencies to maintain order and prevent any disruption to the SIR project’s progress.
The BJP leader also mentioned that he would meet district officials later in the day to discuss steps for ensuring smooth implementation of development schemes in the region.
