BJP‑RSS and AAP jointly attack former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, call him ‘Manuvadi’

The BJP, RSS and AAP have jointly criticised former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, accusing him of promoting Manuvadi ideology and alleging links to mining mafias.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, its ideological parent the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Aam Aadmi Party have launched a coordinated criticism of former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi. In statements released on Thursday, the three entities accused Channi of espousing a "Manuvadi" worldview, a term often used to describe adherence to the ancient Manusmriti‑based social order.
Alongside the ideological charge, the parties alleged that Channi's administration was compromised by the state's mining mafia, suggesting that the government had turned a blind eye to illegal extraction activities. The accusations were framed as evidence of a broader pattern of governance failure under Channi's tenure.
No official response from Channi or his supporters was recorded at the time of reporting. The parties, however, indicated that the allegations would be pursued through parliamentary and legal channels to hold the former chief minister accountable.
