A BJP party worker was hacked and shot dead inside his West Bengal residence by a group of around 11 assailants, according to police. The victim's family has pointed to the ruling TMC as responsible.

West Bengal police have registered a case after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was found dead inside his house, reportedly hacked with a sharp weapon and shot multiple times. Preliminary investigations suggest that a coordinated gang of about eleven men entered the residence and carried out the killing.

According to the family, the attack occurred in the early hours of the day and the assailants fled the scene before law enforcement could intervene. The victim's relatives have lodged a formal complaint, alleging that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had a role in orchestrating the murder, though no direct evidence has been presented yet.

Police officials said they are tracing the suspects through forensic evidence and eyewitness statements, and have launched a probe into possible political motives. The case adds to a series of recent violent incidents that have heightened tensions between the BJP and TMC in the state.
