BJP sweeps Gujarat urban polls, wins 29 seats in Okha, 19 in Thara

Gujarat's civic elections saw the Bharatiya Janata Party achieve a clean sweep across three urban local bodies. In the coastal town of Okha, the party secured 29 council seats, while in the nearby municipality of Thara it won 19 seats. The results underline BJP's continued dominance in the state's urban political landscape. Election officials confirmed the tally after counting concluded on Saturday, with no other party managing to win a single seat in the contested bodies. Analysts attribute the outcome to the party's strong grassroots network and recent development initiatives in the region.
