The Bharatiya Janata Party disclosed that it has collected ₹1,473 crore in donations for its upcoming five‑state election campaign, a sum roughly seven times the amount raised by the Congress party.
The BJP announced that it has amassed donations totaling ₹1,473 crore to fund its campaign across five states where it will contest upcoming elections. The party said the contributions come from a mix of individual donors, corporate entities and affiliated organisations, all registered under the Election Commission’s guidelines.
According to the party’s financial statement, the Congress party has collected about ₹210 crore for the same electoral cycle, making the BJP’s haul roughly seven times larger. The disparity highlights the BJP’s fundraising network and its ability to mobilise resources ahead of a multi‑state contest.
The BJP also disclosed that it has already spent ₹96 crore on election‑related expenses, including advertising, logistics and candidate support. The remaining funds are earmarked for further campaigning activities as the election schedule unfolds.
