BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar warned that demonstrations targeting visiting dignitaries could jeopardise the relationship between the Union government and the states.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, addressed recent public unrest aimed at visiting dignitaries. He cautioned that such protests, if allowed to continue, could undermine the delicate balance of centre‑state relations.

The minister emphasized that respect for constitutional processes and law‑and‑order is essential for federal harmony. He urged state administrations to cooperate with the central government in managing demonstrations without compromising democratic rights.

Chandrasekhar warned that any escalation could strain the collaborative framework that underpins policy implementation across the country. He appealed to political parties and civil society to avoid actions that might damage the trust between the Union and the states.

The remarks were made as several states have witnessed organized protests against high‑profile officials, prompting concerns about potential disruptions to governance.
