New Delhi – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a new phase of its Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, focusing on blood donation and related outreach activities in the state of Odisha. The party said the initiative will mobilise volunteers, set up donation camps in urban and rural areas, and coordinate with hospitals to ensure a steady supply of blood for emergencies.
Party officials highlighted that the drive aims to address chronic shortages of blood units in government hospitals, especially in remote districts. They also promised to conduct awareness programmes on safe donation practices and to involve local NGOs and student groups.
The BJP urged citizens to register as donors and participate in scheduled camps, which will be announced through regional media and the party's digital platforms. The announcement was made during a press briefing by the state BJP office, which cited the growing demand for blood during the monsoon season as a key driver for the campaign.
If successful, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan could become a recurring model for public‑health collaboration between political parties and health authorities in other states as well.
