The Bharatiya Janata Party secured victories in both the graduate and teachers constituencies of Meerut during Uttar Pradesh’s recent MLC elections, while results from other constituencies are still being tallied.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in two key seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections, winning the graduate and teachers constituencies of Meerut. The party’s candidates defeated their rivals after the counting of votes concluded in the respective constituencies.
While the Meerut results have been declared, counting continues in several other graduate, teachers and local authority seats across the state. Election officials are expected to announce further outcomes in the coming days as the tally progresses.
The wins in Meerut bolster the BJP’s position in the upper house of the state legislature, reinforcing its legislative strength ahead of upcoming policy debates. Party leaders have hailed the outcome as a reaffirmation of public support for their development agenda in the region.
