The Bharatiya Janata Party secured both seats in the Meerut Legislative Council election, outpacing the Samajwadi Party while vote counting is still underway.
The recent Legislative Council (MLC) election in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has resulted in a clear victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party won both of the contested seats, defeating the Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates. The outcome was reported as counting of votes progressed, indicating that the final tally was still being confirmed.
Election officials continued to count ballots across the two constituencies, but the early results released by the election commission showed the BJP leading decisively over the SP. Party workers and supporters gathered at local counting centres to watch the updates in real time.
The Week, citing the ongoing count, highlighted the BJP's performance as a significant indicator ahead of the upcoming state assembly polls. No further details on vote margins or individual candidate names were provided at the time of reporting.
