BJP chief Nadda reviews Himachal highway projects, pushes Rs 15,624 cr Kishau dam

Union BJP president J.P. Nadda examined ongoing highway works in Himachal Pradesh and urged the central government to approve the Rs 15,624 crore Kishau dam project.
Union BJP president J.P. Nadda visited Himachal Pradesh to assess the state’s highway construction programmes. During the review, he highlighted the progress of several road‑link projects aimed at improving connectivity in the mountainous region.
Nadda also used the occasion to press for the fast‑track approval of the Kishau dam, a multi‑purpose hydro‑electric project estimated at Rs 15,624 crore. He said the dam would generate significant power, support irrigation and boost the local economy.
State officials briefed the party chief on the technical and financial aspects of both the highway upgrades and the dam scheme. They indicated that the projects are awaiting clearances from the central ministries and that timely sanctioning would prevent cost overruns.
The BJP leader urged the Centre to prioritize the dam’s environmental clearances and funding, stressing its strategic importance for energy security in northern India.
