The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the regional Janata Dal (Secular) [JD(S)] have agreed to contest the forthcoming Karnataka Legislative Council elections together. Party leaders said the collaboration will involve coordinated candidate nominations and joint campaigning across the state. While the BJP will field its senior members in constituencies where it enjoys a strong base, JD(S) will contest seats where its regional influence remains robust.
