The state of Bihar will get a ₹31.21‑crore integrated aqua park along with a National Fisheries Development Board regional centre, aimed at bolstering its fisheries sector.
Bihar has been allocated a ₹31.21‑crore project that combines an integrated aqua park with a regional centre of the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB). The initiative is designed to provide modern infrastructure for fish farming, processing and tourism, thereby creating new livelihood opportunities in the state.
The integrated aqua park will feature facilities such as fish hatcheries, breeding ponds, and visitor amenities, while the NFDB regional centre will serve as a hub for technical training, research and extension services for local fish farmers. Officials say the dual‑purpose complex is expected to raise fish production and improve market linkages.
By consolidating recreational and developmental functions, the project aims to attract tourists and investors, contributing to Bihar’s broader economic diversification. The state government and NFDB will jointly oversee implementation, with progress to be monitored through regular assessments.
