The Indian state of Bihar will stage an under‑20 rugby series featuring teams from India and New Zealand, marking a notable step for the sport’s growth in the region.
Bihar has been selected as the venue for an upcoming under‑20 rugby series that will pit the junior national sides of India and New Zealand against each other. The decision underscores the state's willingness to promote lesser‑known sports and provides a platform for young athletes to gain international exposure.
Organisers have confirmed that the matches will be held at a suitable stadium in Bihar, though exact dates and venue details are yet to be disclosed. The series is expected to draw attention from rugby enthusiasts across the country and may encourage local authorities to invest further in infrastructure.
Stakeholders anticipate that hosting the event will boost participation at the grassroots level, inspire aspiring players, and help integrate rugby more firmly into Bihar's sporting calendar.
