Bihar's health department is launching an AI‑driven system to display real‑time bed availability across public hospitals, following directives from Health Minister Nishant Kumar.
Bihar's health department has initiated a programme to make its services smarter by integrating artificial intelligence. Health Minister Nishant Kumar chaired a review meeting and issued a set of directives to operationalise the plan.
A command‑control centre will be established within the department to monitor hospital resources. The AI system will provide real‑time visibility of bed occupancy across public hospitals, enabling faster patient allocation.
The platform will collate data from existing hospital management systems and present it on a dashboard accessible to officials. Authorities expect reduced waiting times and more efficient use of infrastructure.
The rollout will start with a pilot in selected district hospitals before scaling up statewide, the health ministry said.
