Bihar has announced ambitious plans to quadruple its economic growth and create 10 million jobs by 2026, as presented at the World Leaders Forum.
The World Leaders Forum 2026, held in New Delhi, saw state leaders from across India present their development agendas. Bihar’s chief minister outlined a bold strategy aimed at quadrupling the state’s economic growth over the next decade.
Central to the plan is a focus on industrial expansion, infrastructure upgrades and digital services, with the government estimating a cumulative investment of several lakh crore rupees. The state also projects the creation of 10 million jobs, targeting sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and information technology.
Bihar’s officials highlighted that the job creation targets will be supported by skill development programmes and incentives for private investment. The government also pledged to improve the ease of doing business and attract foreign direct investment.
