Police and the Special Task Force recovered more than 19,000 live cartridges and loaded pistols in a joint operation at Koilwar, Bhojpur, and detained three suspects.
In a coordinated sweep on Thursday, police and the Special Task Force (STF) in Bihar's Bhojpur district uncovered a massive cache of live ammunition at Koilwar. The operation yielded over 19,000 live cartridges and several loaded pistols, indicating a large‑scale illicit stockpile.
Authorities arrested three individuals, including the driver of an SUV that was used in the smuggling activity. The suspects were taken into custody for further interrogation.
Investigators said the haul points to a broader smuggling network that moves weapons from Uttar Pradesh into Bihar. The police have launched a detailed probe to trace the supply chain and apprehend additional participants.
The seizure underscores heightened vigilance by law‑enforcement agencies against illegal arms trafficking in the region, aiming to curb potential threats to public safety.
